TO 2025 TECHNOLOGY TREND

Technology has become more advanced over time. The enormous improvements in technology have required us to be aware that technology recently becomes more popular and implemented in every market and industry. Technology trend happens through a constant cycle of evolution and improvements over the previous technology. The advantage of the new technology made companies choose the latest technology to gain the benefit of technological advancement. On the other hand, consumers who want to experience the new technology need capable devices. The main benefit of technological advancement is that processes and computations can be executed faster and easier which benefits both consumers and companies. For this reason, some technological advancements become a trend.

One of the latest technology trends is Augmented Reality (AR). Augmented Reality is defined as technology that can create a 3D real-world environment to simulate real life using an AR Device. Augmented Reality enables the user to create, simulate and interact with each other in the virtual world. Augmented reality provides a unique experience to the customer since it creates an experience of the digital and physical worlds. It doesn’t require any special hardware to run the program. Another advantage of AR is that it provides real-time analytics because AR can integrate real-time analytics for employees and operator monitoring. Over time, boundaries between real life and virtual life have lessened and digital experiences will dominate the industry which means AR is strategic for business.

The second trend nowadays is Green computing. One of the earliest initiatives of green computing is Energy Star, which is stated in Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that was announced in the United States. Green computing is the design and manufacturing of electronic peripherals that use low energy consumption to lower carbon emissions and lessen the harmful impact of technology products on the environment. Not only it is less harmful to the environment, but it also costs less to operate the system since it lowers the cost of electricity. Some of the most common implementations of green computing are low-power-consuming processors. The label Energy Star has become general sight in laptops and notebooks.

The third trend is Cyber Security. Cyber Security is the protection of internet-connected systems such as hardware and software from cyber attacks. Cyber attacks perform malicious actions to harm their targets. The impact can be fatal if cyber attacks managed to hack into the systems. Several types of cyber attacks are DDoS, Phishing, and malware. The recent occurrence of hacking one’s data that is phenomenal in Indonesia is someone named ‘Bjorka’ that can get data from the national database and also from Badan Intelijen Negara (BNN). This shows that Indonesia is very vulnerable to cyber-attacks. The effect can be fatal since confidential data is stolen and can cause national loss. Therefore it is important to protect data from cyber-attacks. Cyber security must design a safe system for the company and make sure to prevent data leaks from unauthorized users.

In conclusion, the increasing capability of technology has made processes in our life more advanced and faster. Many positive effects of technological advancement such as Augmented Reality which enables us to simulate real-world objects in the virtual world and also green computing which has a less negative impact on the environment and preserves electricity. However, technological advancement also has new problems, such as cyber-attacks getting more frequent which could happen if data protection is not sufficient. We need to adapt and be aware of every technological advancement. To be able to adapt to the latest technology trend, we need to keep improving our skills and use technology wisely.
