Storing Data Using Cloud Computing

Advances in technology today have many positive and negative impacts on humanity itself. Every individual or company in this world must at least have data. There are several ways to store data, such as on flash drives, hard drives, and memory cards. However, this way of storing data is complicated and less flexible. Several reasons to support this is, for example, flash drives can’t hold large data and the possibility of being lost is high because usually flash drives are placed carelessly. Then how do we store data safely and efficiently?

Definition and Types

Cloud computing is a process of processing computing resources through an internet network so that you can run programs via a computer that is connected to a cloud server at the same time. In other words, cloud computing is a computing service that provides a variety of services including servers, storage media, databases, software, and so on. In general, there are three types of cloud-based services provided by cloud service providers. Cloud computing can be public or private.

The first type is Software as a Service(SaaS) which involves a software application license to its users, then Platform as a Service(PaaS) which is a method for delivering a file from the operating system to servers and storage, and users don’t need to buy software or servers and lastly, Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS) is similar to PaaS but closer to a platform for creating software that is delivered over the internet.

Cloud Computing Benefits

1. Data security

Cloud hosting anticipates security risks, cloud computing provides considerably more secure data security. A strong security system makes it impossible for hackers to access cloud 3

databases, protecting data protection. Users no longer have to be concerned about keeping all firm data in a single location that can be accessed from anywhere.

2. Easier Access

Cloud computing allows users to access their data virtually whenever and wherever they choose as long as they are linked to an internet network. Users do not need to carry any hardware to open the files or data they desire. As a result, cloud computing enables quicker and more productive corporate operations.

3. Unlimited Storage

Cloud computing can be a viable option for many businesses’ storage requirements since it does not require hardware to store data. It is also ideal for meeting the vast quantity of data storage requirements in academic systems. The storage capacity of cloud computing is generally huge, if not endless. Cloud computing is also cheap and simple to use.

4. Ease of Collaboration

Cloud computing solutions may make collaboration within a company a breeze because any team member can access and share information across all cloud-based platforms. The speedier and more complex solution also enables each team member to easily transmit data to the cloud, making it easier for teams to work together.

Cloud Computing Disadvantages

Some businesses feel that responding to data breaches is tough. Because they are either too little to respond to cyber threats or too large to effectively protect themselves. Companies can implement a variety of network security techniques to prevent security flaws. Employees should be trained in data security and the proper storage of information that is important for their business. Follow stringent security updating processes. This is a popular use of the platform as a service (PaaS).

2. Cloud Computing Access Control Security

Even the most powerful cloud computing platforms cannot protect themselves against cyber assaults and exploits when cyber attackers have genuine system access privileges.
