ERP Implementation Stages

There are several tried-and-true ways to implement a new ERP system, each with pros and downsides. Implementing an ERP solution requires all stakeholders to work together toward the same goal: corporate success. These are the four of the most common approach:

· The Big Bang Implementation: In this strategy, often known as the “single-step method,” all users migrate to the new system simultaneously. By the go-live date, you must have accomplished all configuration and testing of the new system and training. The strategy basically makes a “big bang” towards the old system of a company or organization, which annihilates the old system to transition to the ERP implementation at an instant rate.

· Phased Implementation: A phased method involves deploying features, tools, and components over a long period, which might be weeks or months. This methodical technique may be less dangerous than the big-bang option. It also allows the organization to prioritize “fast wins”—the functions that provide the most excellent immediate benefits—and to incorporate lessons learned from the early deployment phases to enhance the process for later steps.

· Pilot Implementation: Implementation process that introduces the new system on a trial basis in one section of the organization; after the new system has shown to be functional, it is implemented in other parts of the organization. In a pilot implementation, when tested by small groups of people in the Organization, then will be implemented to all organizations.

· Parallel Implementation: With this technique, the firm continues to use its old systems alongside the new ERP for a set period. This is often regarded as the least dangerous solution since it is feasible to return to the previous design if difficulties arise. Because of this security net, several businesses employ this method for mission-critical functions that must constantly remain operational.

· Vanilla Implementation: A vanilla implementation occurs when a corporation adjusts business operations to match the system rather than modify or personalize the design. In this implementation, the Organization buys licenses from Software Developer and directly uses them without any modification. It will be possible for the simple application in the Organization.

Conclusion

Most of the actual steps are the same regardless of the firm’s implementation approach. For example, when introducing new features to users, the company configures the software, then performs preparatory processes such as training, data migration, and comprehensive testing before deploying the program and providing training and support.
