In this modern era of constant uses of connectivity, where connection speed and reliability without latency are what most people sought after, 5G technology has emerged as the new soon-to-be next generation powerhouse. With 5G promising to revolutionize the way people interact with the digital world using its fast speeds, with minimal latency, and massive capacity. 5G technology is not merely an upgrade for the previous technology but a paradigm shift that will change industries, economies, and societies globally.

Since the early 1970, mobile wireless technologies have experienced 4 to 5 generations of technology evolutions and revolutions (Kachhavay & Thackeray, 2014). The first generation (1G) was launched between the 1970s and 80s, using analog technology, which works like a landline phone, which is a phone that transmit signal using the fiber optic cable that is planted in the ground, hence the name landline phone, the second generation (2G) was first introduced in 1991, which provide improved mobile voice communication over 1G and able to achieve 1 megabit per second (Mbps), the third generation (3G) was introduced in early 2001s, providing high-speed data services that further improved from the 2G and the first to provide the voice with some multimedia, the fourth generation (4G) was introduced in 2009 and it provides even faster data speeds ranging from 20 to 60 Mbps. (Dangi et al., 2021)

5G represents the fifth generation of network technology that was introduced in 2019, succeeding its predecessor of 2G, 3G, and 4G, it has the capability to deliver data at unprecedented speeds, reaching up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps). By using higher radio waves frequency, it enables a significant increase in data transfer rate, thus achieving a remarkable speed. 5G technology also offers a lower latency rate, which means that there will be less delay in data transfer, making 5G an ideal choice for real-time application, such as for using virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), autonomous vehicles, and 4k video streaming (Sarraf, 2019).
