Three Business Analytics Tools

Background

The world is getting more complex day by day, and because of that manager must make a quick but accurate decision in the midst of fast flow information. One of the reason why making decision is getting harder accompanied by the advancement of technology is the number of alternatives is constantly increasing and the decision must be made under time pressure. Therefore business analytics tools is made to help the manager in making decission. There is 3 business analytics tools : online analytical processing (OLAP), Data mining, Decision-support system.

Literature

The organization divides tasks into 2 parts, called specialist functions (person in IT profession) and user functions (end-user). The author agrees with what McLeod and Schell (2001) conveyed, this development is mainly due to the availability of software that is getting easier and cheaper (it can even be said to be free for open source software) on the one hand. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the need for information for business decision making is increasing very rapidly so that organizations will have difficulty relying on meeting this information need only on information specialists.

Result and discussion

Uninterruptible Power Supply won the prestigious Edelman Prize for their ORION project in april 2016. UPS manager realizes savings of between $300 and $400 million a year in driver efficiency and fuel economy and saves 100 million miles in driving, lowering carbon emissions by 100,000 metric tons a year. In addition, as UPS equips its vehicles outside the United States with this technology, ORION will create further environmental benefits and cost reductions. Right now a natural transition to driverless cars is given by ORION. The explanation is that UPS only needs to add ORION with autonomous delivery vehicle apps, and these vehicles would take ideal routes to get UPS workers where they need to go to deliver packages.

USP also trying to use the drone for some application Including the fall of vital supplies in Rwanda and showing how to supply medicines to the islands. Drones launched from the roofs of UPS trucks provide a way to minimize costs and boost service which increase efficiency.

Summary

The development of the analytics business as one that involves many fields of science and interested parties, making it a transdisciplinary study will increase the leverage of the existence of this discipline. The development of the analytics discipline requires many parties to be responsible. Economic education and business with an interest in the development of analytics can take the initiative in a larger and more comprehensive portion for this purpose,this initiative can be developed in various versions and levels, for example: making analytics the subject of a related subject.
