Go-Live Readiness

What is Go-Live Readiness? Basically Go-Live Readiness is to ensure that your company ready to accept the new system process especially when the company want to implement the new ERP system, they need some postimplementation support one of them is Go-Live Readiness. During the discover phase. you need to make the roadmap for the project team that involve in this go-live readiness. beside roadmap we must plan list of activities to prepare for the go-live event, the list can be the Activities that need to be completed, tools that needed to capture the feedback of go-live event and the planned communication.

There are several things that must be prepare while doing the Go-Live Readiness An elaborate readiness checkpoint should be in place for Go-live to make sure steps are not missed, means that for you not to miss any step, there should be a well-thought-out preparation checkpoint. and of course we need to prepare the infrastructure, development, configuration, conversion, testing, training, communications, operations, command centers, reports, and users should be evaluated in preparation. The readiness check should be recorded and communicated to the project team and the company. so the team can evaluate and solve if anything happened regarding the go-live session. A detailed report should be provided with the resume of the senior management.

The commissioning readiness overview and status report are usually a table that summarizes the status of each area and must agree on the main activities before commissioning. The readiness determination process includes a series of meetings and discussions to discuss the status of tasks and activities in each area. When the PMO first sees many RED elements, it can help the project team focus on the work between evaluation and debugging.

Example several step to prepare for Go-Live :

Step 1,

Review day 1 go-live plan with the team and stakeholders. to ensure all the plan prepared as expected.

Step 2,

Review and check the go/no go list with the team, the go/no go decision must be well prepared. because the go/no go decision will bring the company to their successful go-live event.

Step 3,

Assess the technical readiness, to measure the quality of new system.

After the go-live event was executed well, the company still need the postproduction support to keep maintain the new system. purpose postproduction support is Managing the daily operation of the system and ensuring that the system does what it needs to do is the goal of post-production support. If the post-production process is not adequate, the implementation can be regarded as a failure. Proper commissioning and training of end users can mitigate many of the risks associated with migrating to a new ERP system. Domain experts and core project team members should provide general support when answering simple questions about processes and systems.
