As a CEO of Halodoc, Jonathan Sudharta realized the opportunity in health care that concerns about getting the diagnosis and medicines quickly and cheaply, and facilitate proper health access to millions of people across Indonesia in simply way. He invited to a lunch with Bill Gates after one year Halodoc started, and his quote is “if you are lucky enough to be able to change the world, do good, stay on course and do not get distracted by the financial rewards.”. He committed to making Halodoc cover all of their patient’s needs with digital payment, that makes Halodoc superior to others.
Like their slogan (“Simplifying Healthcare”), Halodoc is an online health care platform that enables patients to interact with licensed doctors, labs, pharmacies, and hospitals in the mobile application. Patients can make an appointment and communicate with doctors via chat, video, and voice call. Then, Halodoc also supports medical delivery service or called ApotikAntar (integrated with Go-Jek’s Go-Med) within approximately 40 minutes. In operation, they provide several payment methods, for example Halodoc Wallet, Go-Pay, and Credit Card. Other than that, if a patient has finished consulting with a doctor, patient can receive doctor notes and medicine recommendation. Then, the doctor will able to follow up the patient to check their condition. If further consultations are needed directly, the doctor can give doctor referral.
One of Halodoc’s strategies is doctors that joined in Halodoc must have a minimum of three years’ experience. Then, they were interviewed and verified by Halodoc’s Staff. Other than that, doctors will be trained about how to interact with patients through application, so patients will be feel secure and comfy to check or consul their health. Besides that, Halodoc is committed to protect the privacy data of their patients and create payment transaction safely.
Today, Halodoc has successfully become the first health care application in Indonesia with 40 million people uses of its mobile application or website. They get funding that is raising close to a total of $100 million from various large companies, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, Singtel, UOB Ventures, Allianz, Go-Jek, and many more. They’re connected with 20,000+ licensed doctors, largest labs, 1,500+ pharmacies, and 500+ hospitals. Halodoc made a 500% growth in medicine orders over a year, and they enable patients to claim their medical bills to insurance providers. Halodoc is committed to continuing create the best health care solution for all of their patient’s needs and simply health care in Indonesia.
As a form of Halodoc’s real contribution, some time ago, Halodoc and Go-Jek collaborated with the Ministry of Health of Republic Indonesia (Kemenkes) regarding a feature of check and telemedicine case of Covid-19 in Indonesia by self-assessment. Other than that, they also have access to share information and educate how to prevent Covid-19 to millions people in Indonesia. The goal of this collaboration is people can check independently at home and find out the solution as soon as possible.
