Industry Revolution 4.0

In this era, technologies are becoming more and more of an important aspect in business process. The industry revolution 4.0 pushes companies to be able to implement technologies in their environment. Not just the big companies, even nowadays small roadside shop have their own technology such as QR codes for e-money transaction.

Industry revolution 4.0 brings a new concept of doing business. In this revolution, the focus of doing business is by using Internet to connect each one and another people in different process to create one integrated system in which the business cycle will keep on going. Besides keeping the cycle going, the data travel will also be faster and makes it easier and faster for the directors and managers to make decisions by the condition of the company which can be seen by the data they receive. Besides using the internet of things to promote the company, industry revolution 4.0 also introduces the usage of AI in their process. It is true that technologies have been introduced even from industrial revolution 1.0 and keep growing from each revolution. But, in this revolution, the technologies have been upgraded using the AI to connect to a network and creates a “Cyber -Physical production system” which makes productions nearly autonomous.

In this revolution, the usage of cloud also plays an important role. Just imagine, hundreds or even thousands of data separated in each computer without the directory on which data is where. By using the cloud computing service, the data flows will be a lot faster as it becomes easier to be accessed.

Another data related upgrade is the usage of big data. Big data is a free obtainable data to help creates a good decision making for the company to move forward while also improves the customer services through their feedbacks. Even big data could foresee the risk or threats of the company and prepare for the worst. Some examples of big data include social media and your purchase history on e-commerce or even shops. But this kind of implementation takes a lot of cost to be applied to a company. It is also not guaranteed that every companies who implement this upgrade in technologies to be successful. Besides the huge amount of cost to implement the technologies, the employees also need the training to fully able to operate the system effectively. Companies also have the threats of data leaks which is harmful for the company.

In the implementation of industry revolution 4.0, many improvements could be achieved by implementing the systems to the company. But with that implementations, it come with their own drawbacks such as the need to train each employee to effectively able to use the new environment they are not used to.
