Internet of Things
The Internet of Things is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction, that is the general understanding of the internet of things. If we look in the dictionary is [Inter·net of things] is the interconnection via the Internet of computing devices embedded in everyday objects, enabling them to send and receive data.
But what we will explain this time is the advantages and disadvantages of the (iot). In ourvopinion iot can help the community and personal in carrying out daily life. One of the simplest examples is the smart speaker, like google smart speaker, alexa, and apple homepod. These items are smart speakers that are smart assistants and can do simple tasks, like turning on the lights, set a reminder, set an alarm, and it will tell you about the weather, news, and many more.
So basically it can develop devices that can facilitate us in our daily lives, another example is smart watch. Smart watch can be used as a fitness tracker, personal assistant, and help manage our schedule, all because of iot. How it works, the smart watch is connected to wifi or bluetooth on your mobile device and the watch is connected to the internet. Another simple example is the smart plug, smartwatch is connected with wifi and integrated with applications on smartphones, it can also be said to be iot work.
Okay now I will explain about the advantages of iot, the first one is access information, we can easily access data and information that is sitting far from your location, in real time. This is possible because of the network of devices. Another advantage of IoT is have better communication, better communication is possible over a network of interconnected devices, making the communication of devices more transparent, which reduces inefficiencies. Another advantage of IoT is automation, automation is the need of the hour to manage everyday tasks without human intervention, so automations are one example of smart speakers that I just explained.
Well now we will explain about the disadvantages of iot, the first one is lag of privacy and security, in todays tech driven world, each and every device that an individual uses is connected via the internet. This increases the risk of any leakage of data that might be important. This is a major drawback of sharing information, as confidential information might not be safe & could be hacked by third parties easily. one example is your social media account was hacked, or
your smartphone was hacked, or maybe your laptop was hit by a virus, and the hacker got your personal data. Another disadvantages of iot is, less labor is needed, With every task being automated, the need for human labour will reduce drastically. This will have a direct impact on employability.
Maybe that’s all explanation about iot in this article, the conclusion iot can help human life like smart devices that can do simple tasks, and the most important thing is iot can only work with the internet which connects the device to other devices, thank you.
