Paulus Chandra
Hello everyone, my name is Paulus Chandra, I’m a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Information System, majoring in Applied ERP from Binus University. I also received an award which is called Binusian Award on my graduation. I’m very happy to get the award because I could make my parents feel happy and proud of me. I believe every child dream is to make their parents feel proud of them, so what’s better than seeing you parents smile and feel proud of you?
A little bit about my background, I have been working as employee at Binus University since I was in my 2nd semester. I joined recruitment process at Software Laboratory Center since I was in my 1st semester and got accepted as Teaching Assistant. To be honest, working and studying at the same time was really tough at first, but after a while, I got used to it and I enjoyed it. I could get a lot of new friends, working experiences and income by working and studying at the same time.
I started to join competition when I was in my 6th semester (which was quite late), I joined province selection for ASEAN Skill Competition X Vietnam, Bina Nusantara Skill Competition 2013 and national selection for ASEAN Skill Competition X Vietnam and I got the title as 2nd winner, 1st winner and 1st winner respectively. I also managed to be participant ofAPEX Business-IT Global Case Challengein Singapore in 2014. I got so many experiences from the competition that I have participated, and I believe those experiences will be useful for my future.
Based on my experience, I would like to share several useful tips for all active students:
- Be active in participating for competition, you don’t have to win the competition, but you have to get the experience of joining competition
- Don’t be shy to ask if you don’t know about something and if you know about something that others don’t, don’t be afraid to share your knowledge to them
- Have a balance college life, you have to enjoy your life, but you have to plan for your future as well, think about what will you be in next 5 years
- Grade is not everything, but you have to get a good grade for a better future, so don’t be to immersed in joining competition only, you also have to study as a student
Last but not least, I would like to say thank you to all lecturers, friends, staffs and people who have been supporting me, I believe I wouldn’t be able to make it without your supports. Special thanks to Mr. Win Ce and Mr. Fredy Jingga as my lecturer and guider, I learned a lot from both of you!
