Indonesia is divided into three Standard Time Zones. The first cluster is Sumatra, Java and West & Central Kalimantan, which are 7 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+7). The second one is Bali, Nusa Tenggara, South & East Kalimantan and Sulawesi, which are 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+8). The last one is Irian Jaya and Maluku, which are 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+9).
Language
The official language of Indonesia is Indonesian.

Currency
The Republic of Indonesia’s unit of currency is the Rupiah (Rp).
The current rupiah consists of coins from 100 Rupiah to 1000 Rupiah (1 Rupiah is officially legal tender but is effectively worthless and not circulated) and banknotes of 1000 Rupiah to 100,000 Rupiah. At US$ 1, the largest Indonesian banknote is worth approximately Rp 16.774.2 (22 December 2025).
Foreign currencies can be exchanged at government-designated banks and money changers.
